On December 31st at 10:24 John was waiting to watch the New York City ball drop on their TV. They all went to sit in their living room to wait, his mom and dad were with him both excited to watch the New Year’s tradition again. They had popcorn and candy and were going to watch movies to pass the time until midnight. All of the lights and TV suddenly turned of, it was a power outage. John and his family were so disappointed that they wouldn’t be able to carry out tradition. ‘It’s not like last year’, he thought.
Ady,
I was so excited, as your piece began, for John and his family. Hasn’t this whole recent past been full of disppointing changes to traditions? I hope John will find a silver lining in his bad luck. Keep writing.
